OpenAI Launch ‘Prism’: A New AI-Native Workspace for Scientific Research

San Francisco — OpenAI has unveiled “Prism,” a new research-focused workspace designed to bridge the gap between messy brainstorming and structured data analysis.
What is Prism?
“Prism is not just a chatbot,” says the release notes. It is a visual canvas that allows researchers to map out arguments, connect data points, and visualize neural networks in real-time. It treats AI outputs as “objects” that can be manipulated, linked, and refined.
(Prism Research Graph Interface):

Key Features
- Infinite Canvas: Drag and drop PDFs, code blocks, and charts.
- Semantic Linking: The AI automatically suggests connections between unrelated research papers.
- Collaborative Annotations: Teams can highlight and debate specific model outputs.
🚀 How to Access OpenAI Prism
Prism is currently in a closed research preview. Here is how to apply:
Step 1: Researcher Access Program
- Visit the OpenAI Research Portal.
- Look for the “Tools & Prototypes” section.
- Submit your academic or corporate credentials.
Step 2: Check for “Prism” Toggle
